WeChat Risk Control Rules [Must Read]

Logging in on a New Device (Continuously Updated)

  • Within 24 hours of logging in on a new device, posting Moments is prohibited. For some accounts, posting Moments is restricted for 72 hours. Sending Moments will trigger a security alert on the mobile device.
  • For account stability, it is recommended to engage in 3-5 hours of passive usage (such as staying online without active interaction) after logging in on a new device. During this period, certain operations may be restricted or disabled to enhance device stability, thus avoiding various risk control measures.

Frequency Category (Continuously Updated)

Posting Moments

- It is recommended to have intervals of at least 10 minutes between each post, with a daily limit not exceeding 100 posts.
- Likes and comments should have intervals of at least 5 seconds between each action, with a daily limit of 500 actions.
- Retrieving Moments should have intervals of at least 5 seconds between each action, with a daily limit of 200 actions.

Initiating Friend Requests

- The daily limits for initiating friend requests are as follows: within 1 hour, up to 5 requests can be sent. Beyond this limit, no more friend requests can be sent or received.
- New accounts: 5/day
- Accounts registered for over 7 days: 10/day
- Accounts registered for over 3 months and recently logged in from the same device: 15/day
- Accounts registered for over 6 months and frequently logged in from the same device: 20/day
- Accounts registered for over 6 months and logged in frequently from the same device: 30/day
- Accounts registered for over 1 year and consistently logged in from the same device: 50/day

Accepting Friend Requests

- From receiving a friend request to accepting it (with a maximum of 300 friend requests accepted per day), there should be intervals of at least 30 seconds (with random timing).
- Interval between accepting consecutive friend requests: 20-40 seconds
- Recommended procedure:
	- Wait for friend request list to be updated.
	- Accept friend requests sequentially, following these steps:
	- 1. Randomly select a pending request (avoid accepting requests in chronological order to add randomness). Check if the request has been pending for over 30 seconds. If not, select another request for evaluation. If over 30 seconds, proceed to accept.
	- 2. After acceptance, sleep for at least 20 seconds (plus random time).
	- 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2.

Sending Messages

- No more than 40 messages should be sent to the same recipient (friend or group) within 1 minute.
- For messaging, it is recommended to have intervals of 1-3 seconds per message.
- When messaging different recipients (different groups or friends), intervals of 3-5 seconds are recommended between each message.

Multi-account Operation (Continuously Updated)

  • Best practice suggests logging in with a maximum of two accounts per device.
  • Official scans for multiple accounts regularly. Similarities in device ID, network information, IP, and system status can lead to identification.

Content Category (Continuously Updated)

  • Discussions on topics related to politics, terrorism, violence, pornography, gambling, and drugs, which harm fellow citizens or society, are strictly prohibited.
  • Severe violations will lead to immediate suspension.
  • Marketing efforts are encouraged, but they should provide value. Useless marketing not only has low conversion rates but also incurs high costs.
    • Example of ineffective marketing: aggressive marketing (immediately promoting products upon entering a new group, with repetitive content).

Conclusion

  • In conclusion, your strategy should align with the behavior of a typical user.
  • User behavior is the most significant factor in risk control strategies.
